noir

Henna your way to raven-black, glossy locks, then spread your wings and soar. Mysterious blue-black tones and inky shades are teased out by our darkest natural hair dye, Noir. Indigo herb creates a deep, midnight colour, while a pinch of red henna adds shine to your tresses. Noir works best on dark hair colours, so if you’ve got a lighter shade, try using Rouge or Marron first to create a base layer.

Red henna adds body and shine alongside a deep conditioning treatment. Fair Trade organic cocoa butter gently softens, getting your tresses in tip top condition. A henna treatment will develop differently depending on the individual tones unique to your hair, creating your own personal shade.

This natural hair dye coats each individual strand like a varnish, adding an extra layer of protection and a glossy coating. Safe and good for your hair, you can henna up as often as you like.

I bought this caca noir because: 1, I wanted a natural colour, 2, I like Lush and have had good past experiences with their products, and 3, I only wanted my hair a bit darker and a bit red tinted.

My hair beforehand was medium-dark brown with lighter natural highlights verging on blonde. Caca noir made my hair a bit darker but not too much (kind of like the difference between your winter and summer hair), and slightly red tinted. The colour worked really nicely with my olive skin tone.

I have been unable to use chemical hair colour for a few years as it burns my scalp, so have only been getting the ends "balayaged/ombred". I wanted to try something a tad more uniform as I had a rainbow of blondes/light browns in the ends with very dark brown roots. I tried a 50:50 mixture of Noir and Brun as I was after a dark rich chocolate colour. My hair is mid back length and there is a lot of it so I used 3 cubes of each colour.
