Face And Body Scrub
This refreshing, softening and exolfiating face scrub is one of Lush's best sellers and a huge fan favourite - containing a mixure of scrubby sea salt to smooth, fresh grapefruit to cleanse and lime to brighten your skin.
"My absolute favourite scrub I've ever used! I love a more intense scrub and this scrub is so versatile, using it on a freshly cleansed face straight from the tub provides a rougher scrub that leaves you feeling so refreshed. If you prefer a gentler scrub, mixing it with water results in a smoother paste and this is what I do if my skin is particularly tender or irritated. This is the best Lush product I've used on my face and I'll keep using it forever. I would give it 6/5 if I could!" - bkenn86
"I have real dry skin and my skin tends to flake especially on my forehead. I have been using this product on my face for about 1.5 years and it’s totally accustomed to it. I follow up with Full of Grace serum bar and they are a dream team. I use once a week and was glad to say bye see ya never to exfoliants that we’re adding plastic micro beads to the waterways." - emdat182
"I use it once a week during the times where my acne needs a bit of a push in the right direction and something really exfoliating. Combine this with an after treatment of the Vanishing Cream and my oily skin feels SO refreshed and tremendously less red. Use the preserved type for a gentler scrub but use the self-preserved if you want a tougher texture." - mitchellsloan
How to use:
If you feel like you need a good scrub down, apply to dry skin and rub all over, using circular motions, or for a gentler buff, use on damp skin in the shower. Rinse away to feel super soft and smooth. Follow with other skin-softening products such as Oatifix fresh face mask and Celestial moisturiser for seriously smooth, moisturised skin.
Ocean Salt is also available in self-preserving formula, which means it stays fresh without the need for synthetic preservatives. For a coarser scrub opt for the original formula, and for a gentler touch why not try Ocean Salt self-preserving? The choice is yours.
What’s the difference between the Original Ocean Salt formula and Self-Preserving?
The overall function they have is the same and both will provide that scrubby exfoliation. The main difference you may find is in how they feel on application. Reformulating Ocean Salt depended on successfully making the most of salt’s natural antimicrobial properties. Using salt means that the material that is antimicrobial is also of benefit to the skin. It’s a great example of how self-preserving ingredients also provide an effective result!
As a bonus in creating Ocean Salt Self-Preserving - it also made it vegan! This is due to removing the lanolin and synthetic emulsifiers and replacing them with silken tofu and Japan wax.
With all our self-preserving versions, the shelf-life is the same, the majority of ingredients that get the job done are the same (minus synthetic preservatives in the self-preserving formula), it all comes down to which you prefer to use.

Ocean salt is one of the best lush products I own. It smells like a tropical island and feels good when you really massage those salt bits onto your skin. It works best if you leave on for a couple minutes and then rub off. You feel super fresh afterwards but you should definitely do it at night for best...

This made my skin so soft and it stayed that way. The salt stung on my eczema, but if you can get past that, it's so worth it!
