Shine and protection
Brewer’s yeast is a bitter-tasting fungus that’s used in the production of beer and bread. It’s packed with protein, vitamins and minerals which help hair to grow long and strong as well as balancing sebum production.
This yeast is made from a one-celled fungus called Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It’s a probiotic and is a rich source of B vitamins and minerals including chromium, iron, zinc, potassium and magnesium.
You might have heard of people rinsing their hair with beer to improve shine and condition - well brewer’s yeast has the same effect, minus the drying effects of alcohol. It boosts shine because it’s packed with protein which forms a protective layer around the hair cuticle, smoothing out any damage caused by hair dye and styling tools. As a result, individual strands reflect the light, creating a bright and shiny finish.
