Limonene is a colourless or pale yellow liquid with a sweet lemon-like odour. It occurs naturally in many essential oils, such as lime, lemongrass, neroli, grapefruit, tangerine, oakmoss, olibanum, peppermint, rose, sage and fennel.
Description
It is also found in lemon rind.
The following fragrance materials must be listed in QIs by law: benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate, benzyl salicylate, citral, citronellal, coumarin, eugenol, geraniol, hydroxycitronellal, limonene and linalool.
As a fragrance material, it is useful as a note in combination with neroli or mandarin essential oils. It occurs in many of our fresh, handmade products as a constituent of essential oils.
